I haven't looked at the patch carefully. But just so I understand what
you mean: Doing "copy" in some Gtk based application can be pasted into
mrxvt with your patch? Is there some sort of check when the data in the
clipboard is not text?

I would too. Clipboard paste has been requested by users for a long
time. Could you SVN update and resend your patch? (You diff'ed against
revision 260. We're at 261).
