Thanks for all your work. But feel free to commit grossly unfinished
unreadable not working code to the utf8 branch you created.

The purpose of creating the branch was so that you can use it as you see
fit for UTF8, so don't worry about nightly snapshots that don't compile.

PS: Of course, the commit policy for the trunk is different. Commits
    there should be cleanly written, and working.
