On 7 April 2025, the editorial board of the journal MLQ: Mathematical Logic
Quarterly, published by Wiley, has announced its joint resignation.
Simultaneously, the Deutsche Vereinigung für Mathematische Logik und für
Grundlagenforschung der exakten Wissenschaften (DVMLG) has announced that they
will not extend their publishing agreement with Wiley: starting from 2026, the
journal MLQ will no longer be published under the auspices of DVMLG.

All resigning editors (with the exception of those under contractual obligation
with Wiley) have launched a new English-language journal entitled

ZML: Zeitschrift für Mathematische Logik und Grundlagen der Mathematik

publishing original research papers of high mathematical quality in all areas
of mathematical logic, primarily in English.

The editors of ZML support true open access removing all barriers to access and
believe that the scientific content of research journals must be under the sole
control of the academic community and should be free from any commercial or
profit-oriented influence.

ZML is an electronic Diamond Open Access research journal: the journal is
available openly and free of charge to authors and readers anywhere in the
world, independently of their institutional affiliations. In the spirit of true
open access, all papers are published under the Creative Commons license CC-BY
4.0 International. ZML uses the submission system EditFlow that was designed by
mathematicians for mathematicians.

Indexing, digital hosting and preservation, as well as assignment of ISSN and
DOIs for ZML is provided by Cambridge University Library.
