I completely agree with this.. We did evaluate micro_http, thttpd and mini_httpd. But chose mathopd for the core web server of our Coolbase Appliance server . It is simple and easy to modify (to strip off). We did manage to come down to16K bytes of mathopd on Linux. Ofcourse, after a lot of modifications....
Our Coolbase Applaince server is ofcourse stripped off mathopd + a lot of our own code.
