Janusz has already answered this very adequately. I believe this problem has appeared on the list in the past, but probably before the archiving has started. I will try to look this up in my own archive and turn this into a FAQ. The problem is that this is a bit OS-dependent, so it is very hard to give a short answer that satisfies every user.
