a(1+ r3)=18 ----------------(1)
Thus, ar+ar2 = 30-18=12
ar(1+r)=12 --------------------(2)
Dividing equation (1) by (2) and simplifying
2(r2-r+1) = 3r
2r2 – 5r +2 = 0
(r-2)(2r-1)=0
r=2 OR r=1/2
when r=2, from equation (1) a=2
So, the numbers are 2,4,8 and 16
When r = ½, from equation (1) a=16
So the numbers are 16, 8, 4, 2
