in triangle ABC,
AB 2 + BC 2 = AC 2 ---------(1)
But, AD 2= AB 2 + BC 2 + CD 2
= AC 2 + CD 2 (from (1))
So, by Inverse of Pythagoras Theorem, angle ACD = 900
