Dear teacher-friends,

We are writing rubrics to evaluate activities, projects and cce works of
10th std.
We have many doubts about tools and techniques of evaluation, rubrics etc.
Here I have shared my understanding about rubrics. Please go through it and
give feedback to enhance understanding/ correcting the concept.

 Evaluating an activity using rubrics is different from evaluating answer
for a question. My thinking about rubrics is that; they are general , not
very specific. Let me consider evaluating a sum ' draw tangents to a
circle with radius 3 cm from an external point 7 cm from the centre.

Evaluation goes like this;(*just for narration)*

   - AB=7cm--------1/2mark

   - to draw a circle at A with radius -----1/2 mark

   - middle point -----1/2 mark

   - tangents------1/2 mark

                        total =2marks

This can be given as an activity with little change " draw tangents to a
circle with radius 3 cm from an external point 7 cm from the centre.

* Measure the tangents. write conclusion." Verify your conclusion
constructing figures with other measurements. Solve the problems that
fallow."( Figure problems will be given)*
Evaluation of this activity based on *Rubrics *is as follows;

   - Skill of using geometry instruments------3 points

   - Accuracy in measuring----------3 points

   - Deciding/ arriving at a conclusion----3 points

   - Verifying the conclusion for new construction----3points

   - Applying this conclusion to solve problems-----3 points.

*                                                  Total =15points*
excellent-3
very good-2
good-1
very poor-0

*So this is my understanding about 'rubrics'. *

*Please give feedback and share ideas, resource and references about
writing rubrics *
