ವರ್ಷವೂ ಡಾ.ಟಿ.ಕೆ ಜಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಸ್ಮರಣಾರ್ಥ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದೇ
ರೀತಿ ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಸಹ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, "ವಿವಿಧ ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ
ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಮರುಕಲ್ಪನೆ" ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗುಂಪು ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಹೊಸ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀತಿಯ ಕರಡು (NEP 2016)ಪ್ರತಿಯು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಉತ್ತರದಾಯಿತ್ವದ
ಕಡೆಗೆ ವಾಲಿದೆ. ಬೋಧಕ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರು, ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾಯತ್ತತೆಯನ್ನು ಪುನಃಪಡೆಯಬೇಕಿದೆ
ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ವೃತ್ತಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತರಾಗಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭೋಧಕ
ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ನಾವು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಿದೆ.
ವಿಶ್ವದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಬಗೆಗಿನ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಳು ಸೂಚಿಸಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ,
ಪ್ರಬಲವಾದ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರತೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣನೀಯವಾದ
ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ತರಲು ಬೋಧಕರ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ರಚನೆಯು ಶಕ್ತಿಯುತವಾದ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುಮೂರ್ತಿ ಕಾಶಿನಾಥ, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು
ಐ.ಟಿ.ಫಾರ್ ಚೇಂಜ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಇವರು *ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ರಚನೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯ* ಬಗೆಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಪ್ರಬಲವಾದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಮುದಾಯ ರಚೆನಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಈ
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಭಾವಿ ಮತ್ತು ತರಬೇತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು
ಮತ್ತು ಬೊಧಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.
ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳು ವಿವಿಧ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಗುಂಪುಗಳಾಗಿ ಸಹಯೋಜಿತ ಕಾಣ್ಕೆ
ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಬದ್ದತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಗಳನ್ನು
ಆರಂಭಿಸಲು, ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾದ ಪಾತ್ರವಹಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು
ಆನ್ಲೈನ್ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಬೇಕು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಬಗೆಗೆನ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ
ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಬೇಕು, ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ಹಂತಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಹಾಕಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ
ಬೋಧನಾ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇದು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರಾಗಿ
ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ,ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಮುದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಎತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತ
ಡಾ.ಟಿ.ಕೆ ಜಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ರವರಿಗೆ ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ ನಾವು ನೀಡಬಹುದಾದ ನಿಜವಾದ ಗೌರವವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Dr. T K Jayalakshmi was the Principal of RV Teachers College and
Founder Director of R. V Educational Consortium. For the past decade,
we have been organising an annual Dr. TKJ Memorial Programme, in her
memory.

'*Reimagining professional development of teachers across levels*'.
The draft New Education Policy (NEP 2016) is heavily slanted towards
teacher accountability across board. Before the system thrusts it from

teacher educators, we need to take charge of our own professional
development. The idea of continuous professional development as
something 'done' to us by the concerned authorities has to give way to

Research on teacher development across the world indicates that
setting up a community of practitioners (CoP) is a powerful means of
forging a strong professional identity and bringing about substantial
changes in teachers' capacities.
The invited speaker for the programme is *Mr. Gurumurthy
Kasinathan,* Founder & Director, IT for Change, Bangalore will talk
about the importance of forming community of teacher practitioners.
We invite heads of institutions, prospective and practicing teachers
and teacher educators to share your views on setting up a vibrant
community of practitioners. These communities must evolve as a diverse
group of teachers across levels with shared vision and commitment to
the profession. Members must play an active role in initiating
dialogues, sharing ideas and raising concerns through online forum,
reading about current discourses on education, taking stock of
students' learning and meeting periodically to strengthen teaching
competences.
This would indeed be a true tribute to the memory of Dr. TK
Jayalakshmi who stood tall in the teaching community, at a time when
teachers were just beginning to be recognised as professionals.
