Hey James, thanks a lot for this patch. As you know, it has been on my TODO list :-) I made one minor change, which is to rename 'data offset' to 'offset points' since 'data' in the annotation coords refers to the native coordinate system. Since we have 'axes points' and the like, I thought 'offset points' would be most consistent. Anyhow, very useful!
