Did you find http://code.enthought.com/chaco/ ?

Not that we are trying to drive you away <wink>, we'd love to have you
stay.  As I mentioned in my earlier post, when we migrate to traits
for matplotlib artist properties, we will get a pretty rich
interactive UI configuration layer.
