This is neat to see - I mused into the dark about whether this was possible a couple weeks ago (https://twitter.com/deeplycloudy/status/3130819107).
The killer-app next step would be to use a JSON callback to do set up interactive zooming, etc. A web browser is the ultimate portable backend, if you could make it work as smoothly as a local backend.
