I just committed get_clim to SVN, but in the meantime, you can access
with the image normalization instance, which is what clim is an
interface to anyhow:
In [5]: im = imshow(rand(10,10))
In [6]: im.norm.vmin, im.norm.vmax
Out[6]: (0.011246857233345509, 0.99705302715301514)
