Hey all, Just in case there are people out there in the same boat as me; I found a solution. Eric pointed out that the latest matplotlib only supported numpy rc2, but they were only listing rc3 on sourceforge. Turns out you can click the rc3 download link, then just change the file name... downloads, installs & jives with matplotlib perfectly!
