I've never tried importing eps files into Photoshop, so I couldn't
comment on that (I would imagine Adobe would be quite good at it!).
However, one possible workaround since you're importing into an image
editor would be to use ghostscript or eps2png to convert the eps to a
PNG or whatever before importing.
