Hi,

I have matplotlib 1.0 for python 2.5 (installed from
matplotlib-1.0.0.win32-py2.5.exe<http://sourceforge.net/projects/matplotlib/files/matplotlib/matplotlib-1.0/matplotlib-1.0.0.win32-py2.5.exe/download>).
I'm using windows7 64 bit. When I try to import anything, e.g.

from matplotlib.figure import Figure

I'm getting this error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
  File "C:\Python25\Lib\site-packages\matplotlib\figure.py", line 16, in

<mo
dule>
    from matplotlib._path import affine_transform
ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.

When I run this code in python interpreter, I get another clue: windows (?)
displays the following message in the popup window: The program can't start
because MSVCP71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the
program to fix this problem.

I have another computer with windows XP 32 bit and it works fine from there.
I know about other computer with 32 bit system where it also works without
problems. I've found a ticket in a bug tracker from 2008 with identical
error but no replies. I've downloaded this MSVCP71.dll from the internet and
put it in windows\system32 but it didnt help (still the same error). Seems
like the problem with 64 bit windows. But is it only me? Can anyone help me
with this?

Thanks

Paweł
