No, that is probably supposed to be

        sudo apt-get remove numpy

You can tell whether you have any leftover pieces of numpy or matplotlib
from the *.deb files by looking in /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages
for "numpy" or "matplotlib".

Eric, the script was scrubbed.  Does it land somewhere else?
