I've just tried Matplotlib for the first time, for plotting on the screen, and the examples all seem to pop up a new window with interactive tools, like Matlab does. That's very nice, but what I need is to create a static plot that appears in some sort of widget in an existing window created with PyGTK, without any of the controls. Is there a page that shows how this can be done? Is it even possible?
