That looks correct for 'opf', but without details of how it failed I can't guess what the problem might be. Regarding 'uopf', the version in MATPOWER 3.2 does not include the ability to pass in the user defined linear constraints and costs. I've attached a version of uopf.m that does. This feature will be included in the next release.
