Dear Professor Zimmerman, We have a power system with 100 bus, 125 transmition lines and 40 power plants. One of the plant has three generators, two uses natural gas and their power is 125MW each, the third is a 135MW combined cycle power that uses coal or diesel. We can use combined different fuel for generating power depending of its price. For example, only gas, gas and coal, gas and diesel, only coal, etc.
For modeling this situation and run a DC OPF, we can add a row for each combination on the 'gen' and 'gen cost' matrix. The problem appears when different combinations are possible but these are not feasible in the same time. In reality, once the coal-gas combination is commited, the others combination are not feasible. Please, explain me how can I modify the optimization problem with matpower? Is possible to include a constraint with this information? Best Regards, Víctor
