I'm not sure there is a single correct way of defining the cost of losses in an OPF. The simplest way would be to take the total quantity of losses (in MW) and multiply it by the average cost per MW of all generation. Another option is to attempt to allocate the cost across the marginal generators in proportion to their marginal contribution to losses. I imagine there are other options as well. But MATPOWER does not have any built-in functions to compute the cost of losses.
