hi Iman,

thank you so much for your quick response. I still have some questions which I want to post:

so just as an example (values are taken from case9):

mpc.baseMVA = 100;
voltage of reference bus (or which voltage do i have to take?): 345kV

-> Z_base = 119.0250

my branch is
"4 5 0.017 0.092 0.158 250 250 250 0 0 1 -360 360;"

so i take

Z_pu = 0.017 + 0.092i

Z_pu * Z_base = 2.0234 +10.9503i

So R = 2.0234 and X = 10.9503?

For b I dont know what to do because there's no Q in the branch matrix, online in the bus-matrix?

thank you in advance,

laurin

Dear Laurin
First calculate the impedance for R and X.You will have Z p.u =R+JX.Then multiply it by Z base which is calculated by Z base=V^2/S in which V and S are the base voltage and apparent power of the system respectively.In the end multiply Z p.u by Z base to get the actual value. In per Unit system Q injected to buses is the same as susceptance .So Bs p.u=Q inj P.u. Simply multiply it to S base to get the actual Q injected.
Hope that it is understandable

Iman

    hi there,
    in mpc.branch there are columns defining r, x and b. those values
    are "per unit". what do i have to do or how do i have to calculate
    to get the actual value of r, x and b?
    thank you!
