Hello SdT, Simulating loads as constant sinks of active and reactive power has to do with the method used of solving the power flow (Ray, please correct me on this one if I am wrong). Perhaps you could create constant impedances, if you carefully model your loads as shunt elements. I am not aware how this can be done in MATPOWER, without tweeking the code.
I hope this helps a bit, Panagis Vovos On 23 October 2012 12:20, Sala de Tareas <[email protected]> wrote: > hi there, > > if yuo set up a load with 50kW in matpower it will always get those 50kW, no > matter how low the voltage has gone. this is an evidence, that matpower uses > controlled / active loads. the impedance of the load is regulated in a way, > that always the asked power is converted. > > my question to you, since not all loads in reality are active, is if there > is a possibility in matpower to make analysises with passive / not > controlled loads? so less power when there is less voltage? > > thank you in advance, > SdT
