Hello SdT,

Simulating loads as constant sinks of active and reactive power has to
do with the method used of solving the power flow (Ray, please correct
me on this one if I am wrong). Perhaps you could create constant
impedances, if you carefully model your loads as shunt elements. I am
not aware how this can be done in MATPOWER, without tweeking the code.
