however, in my network does not have other elements besides generator and
dispatchable load

Generators are not the only source of reactive power. The network itself
(capacitive elements in particular) also generate reactive power.

Dear Dr Ray,

I have 3 dispatchable load with real and reactive power demand.

In order to see how Matpower react, I purposely make all of my generators to
have 0 reactive power output.
When I run ACOPF, MATPOWER showed me some of the reactive load had been
satisfied.

May i know why? isn't that MATPOWER should fail to converge because I have
reactive load but I dont have reactive source?

thank you
