Hi Alexandra,
The provision for entering cost functions in MATPOWER, 'gen cost' allows
one to enter cost functions for both active and reactive power, however it
distinguishes the two by hierarchy i.e. the first rows of cost functions
are for active power, correspojding to the number of active generators you
have defined. what follows are taken to represent reactive power. So if all
you want is reactive power cost functions, i think you can enter zeros for
the coefficients in the first rows equal to number of active generators and
thereafter you enter the coefficients for the reactive power.
