Try this. It worked for me:
define_constants;
mpc = loadcase('case30');
size(mpc.branch,1);
nb = size(mpc.branch,1) + 1;
mpc.branch(nb, F_BUS:ANGMAX)= [1380.060.180.02656565001-360360];
mpc.branchcost(42, MODEL)=2;
runopf(mpc);
You must add the other branch variables. Like status and angles. Just use
standard values and you will see no changes.
