MATPOWER is a free, open-source software package for power system analysis,
aimed primarily at solving power flow and optimal power flow problems.
Highlights of version 5 include:
- Continuation power flow.
- Applications of semi-definite programming relaxations to power flow
equations.
- PSS/E raw data import.
- Utility routines to check network connectivity and handle islands and
isolated buses.
- New extensible options architecture.
- New and updated support for 3rd party solvers (CPLEX, GLPK, Gurobi, Knitro).
- Performance enhancements.
- Bug fixes.
