Dear Matpower users,

I need a small help understanding complex current in my transmission lines.
What does the complex current mean. For instance I have the current flowing
in my line "k" as follows:

If =

   3.3265e+02 - 3.2707e+02i
%complex current injected into branch k at bus f

It =

  -2.7750e+02 - 3.7500e+02i

%complex current injected into branch k at bus t

What is the physical meaning of this complex current? If I have to
compare current in two transmission lines do I just take the modulus
of this complex current?

Best, Bijay
