This is a question of what you are modeling. MATPOWER only deals with a single
phase model. If you are using it to model a balanced 3-phase system, then it is
up to you to handle the mapping of parameters and results between the
single-phase representation and the actual 3-phase model. I suggest you consult
a good power systems analysis textbook to understand the correspondence between
the two (which is what I’d need to do to refresh my memory).
