Since you’re making me guess … maybe you are referring to the use of ‘nominal’ in the context of total_load() <http://www.pserc.cornell.edu//matpower/docs/ref/matpower5.1/total_load.html>. If so, nominal refers to the maximum value of a dispatchable load specified by PMIN and QMIN. Ray
