Dear Andrey,
I am not aware of any tool that offers short-circuit calculation for MATPOWER. The new open source tool pandapower <http://www.uni-kassel.de/go/pandapower/> does however offer short-circuit calculation according to IEC 60909 (Disclaimer: I am a developer of pandapower). The documentation can be found here <http://www.uni-kassel.de/eecs/fileadmin/datas/fb16/Fachgebiete/energiemanag ement/Software/pandapower-doc/shortcircuit.html> . The short-cicuit module is in beta-stadium, but the basic elements that you need for these cases (line, ext_grid, gen) are already implemented. The cases you mention are not directly available in pandapower, but there is a function to import casefiles from MATPOWER (documentation here <http://www.uni-kassel.de/eecs/fileadmin/datas/fb16/Fachgebiete/energiemanag ement/Software/pandapower-doc/converter/matpower.html> ). pandapower is implemented in python and not in MATLAB, which is however also a scripting language very similar to MATLAB. This might still be a problem for you if you already have developments in MATLAB, but I don't know of any other available solution. If someone else does, I would also be very interested to know about that. I have attached a short script that shows you how to define the relevant subtransient parameters, run a short-circuit calculation and output the results with pandapower. For this, I'm basically using MATPOWER's runpf function for cases 33, 84 and 135 buses to analyze losses, voltage drops, and so on. In the second part, I intend to involve studies and protection analysis between protection devices (relays, fuses and reclosers) for such cases. For this, I need to conduct short-circuit studies and MATPOWER does not offer me such a tool. I wonder if some of you have had to deal with this situation. That is, is there any MATPOWER routine available for short-circuit studies? Can anyone tell me how I can do short-circuit studies in cases 33, 84 and 135? Or do I have to associate MATPOWER with some software to do such a study? Att Andrey R Vieira
