Control Variables of OPF

Hi Ray;

I would like to know  if that MATPOWER is capable of
solving the OPF when the objective is represented in polynomial
form and is only capable of handling continuous control variables
[Pgi,Vgi] or both continuous and discrete control variables [Generator
active power Pgi,Voltage magnitude Vgi,transformer tap setting
Ti,Shunt compensator Qci] ??
