Hello Matpower team,
I am planning to add PV and wind power generation unit to the existing power
grid buses and for every power generation will depend upon a probability
distribution.
Can you please suggest if I add a PV/wind to a load bus, do I have to add
another row in mpc.gen struct file based on the power I am injecting?

Yes. (It’s also possible to do it simply by subtracting the injected power from
the load in the bus matrix, but then you have to keep track of what is load and
what is generation yourself).

And do I have to modify that node from PQ bus to PV bus?

Only if the PV or wind generator also regulates the voltage at the bus. If not,
it should remain as a PQ bus.

Can you please suggest what further changes to be done in the bus structure
(mpc struct file)so that I can do continuation power flow analysis for
different power grid buses.?

For continuation power flow, you simply define a base and target case (e.g.
with different generation patterns / load patterns in each), and the
continuation power flow will begin at the base case and will trace solutions
along the path from the base toward the target case.
I suspect you already know this, but just to be clear, MATPOWER does not
implement stochastic power flow or CPF, so you’ll have to take care of the
stochastic part yourself.
