Hope everybody is doing well.
I am using Matpower for performing OPF. In my problem, I have connected a
grid (30 bus system) with 3 microgrids(15 bus system) through a common bus
(bus no. 31). When I perform OPF in grid connected mode then OPF converges
but in island mode;it is not converging. In islanded mode, 3 islands and 2
isolated buses are formed. Island1 is a 30 bus system, Island2 is MG1 and
island3 is MG3 whereas bus 31 and MG2 become isolated buses. At bus no.
31, there is no generation and load, it is just an interconnecting bus
between MGs and grid. But for MG2 i.e. bus 38, there is generation as well
as load.
My question is how to deal with an isolated bus? Can MG2 i.e. be treated as
an isolated bus or reference bus or generator bus.
