Calling all leaders and visionaries - Opencast needs you!
The Opencast Community is now accepting nominations for positions on the Opencast Board. Each position is a 2- to 3-year term beginning in October 2011. All 5 board position are open for election, as this is our first election under the new governance model. Nominations will be accepted until 8am Pacific on Monday, September 12th.
The Opencast Board is designed to represent the will of the community while providing leadership to support community health. See Opencast Governance (http://opencast.org/opencast-governance) for more information about the role and expectations of Opencast Board members.
Any member of the Opencast Community is welcome to nominate themselves or nominate another member for a board position. A "member" is anyone who is subscribed to the Opencast Community mailing list. Nominations will be reviewed by the Elections Committee to confirm eligibility. If nominating someone else, the election committee will confirm acceptance of the nomination with the nominee.
The voting process will begin on Tuesday, September 13th and remain open until Friday, September 23rd. Each organization who has identified itself as an adopter on http://opencast.org/matterhorn-adopters will be able to cast 1 vote for each open position. For those adopter organizations who have active Matterhorn committers on staff, each vote cast will be counted as 3 votes.
