Hi All,
I watched the list the last couple of weeks during my "nothing to do in
office" job and I noticed, that we ahd a lot of support requests that
seems to depend on individual problems to access the install and config
information stored in the wiki.

Weeks ago I talked with RĂ¼diger about that in conjuction with my demand to
do something in Matterhorn Project he mentiones that the Release
Documentation need some loving care. Today I took a first look at the
documentation to figure aut whats wrong there.

My first idea is, to make the FAQ more prominent on the release page. And
then we could gave them a structure: General, Core, Capture Agent. This is
a short example:

FAQ

General
 Q. What is Matterhorn Core?
 Q. What is a Matterhorn Capture Agent?
...

Matterhorn Core
Q. During installation of the third-party tools, which pre-install script
should I use?
...

Matterhorn Capture Agent
Q. Help I didn't have my Epiphan VGA frame grabber installed when I
installed my capture agent so I need the driver!

Next is, to frequently update the FAQs with questions like "Can I operate
Matterhorn Core Version 1.2 and 1.1 Capture Agents?" Maybe we can also set
an additional link to tha FAQs in the SVN README.txt. I took a look at
that file and recognize, that in 1.2.0 there is a link to trunk
documentation. Not shure if I took the wrong source/made a mistake using
Fisheye, this is known or this is a bug.

I have to admit, that I lost track about who is workin on this part of the
wiki to coordinate some basics, can remember that Michelle and Chris
workin in that area.

Looking forward to your comments

regards
Nils
