Hi Andreas,

I can not open the link that you send. But nevertheless I guess I know the problem, and the reason is quite simple, because the confidence monitoring is working now we had a chance find the conditions when this error happens: You can not change the resolution of a computer already connected to the Epiphan device. The device does not send an event if something like this happens, so matterhorn can not react on this, and turn on scaling.

If something like this happens you can reconnect the VGA. In this case the resolution is checked again.

If something like this might happen too frequently in your lectures: get a vga-scaler that you place before the epiphan device.

Hi,

once more I need advice on how to handle a capture problem: when switching between devices with delay in switching or quick resolution changes, we *sometimes* get the effect, that the resulting capture is corrupted afterwards.

Corrupted means: yes, the screen is captured, but mostly unreadable and like 5 times repeated vertically.

Have a look at http://matterhorntest.zserv.tuwien.ac.at/engage/ui/watch.html?id=35b051db-363f-4a0e-ac36-0474d371cfdf
to see what I mean (beginning with minute 8)

We use MH 1.2 on Ubuntu 10.10 and the recommended settings for the Epiphan VGA2USB-device.

Any input to what is the cause and what can be done to improve the situation welcome, as always.

Andreas
