In case you missed today's meeting...
*Pilot Issues:*
_UC Berkeley 1.2:_
-high cpu utilization on their 1.2 all-in-one deployment. They've
incorporated Adam Mckenzie's patch and will see whether that fixes the
issue. Should know shortly.
-Ingest-temp folder isn't being cleaned out when a recording fails to
upload. Re-opening MH-7711.
-Proxy issues may be related to issues above, so testing without proxy.
Should know shortly. Encountered timeouts for large recordings but
increasing timeout has solved problem.
-Data sector on capture agent which led to a ton of ingest retries. The
ootb configuration was too aggressive and eventually partial uploads in
the ingest-temp directory caused the disk to max out. Adjusting
settings available in the capture agent should mitigate this issue, but
ideally the capture agent
_Saskatchewan 1.2:_
- Service Heartbeat marks servers offline too quickly resulting in false
positives. MH-8290. Scheduled to be fixed in 1.4
-encountered high cpu utilization but Adam's patch seemingly fixed it.
-Processing failures on media package due to nonce time outs. MH-8273.
Fixed in Trunk. Will be added to 1.3.x branch.
-Restarts servers daily, but 20 courses!
_Northwestern 1.2_:
-Encounters high cpu utlizatization. Needs to restart daily. Waiting
to hear back from Berkeley re: fix results.
_Capture Devices_
Matterhorn "official" open source capture agents seems stable and
reliable. (shocking but seems to be the case)
Ghent university, Harvard, and others find epiphan devices (mostly)
works now, but it has a delayed ingest issue. They find the quality of
the video mediocre.
*Unconference:*
Hank Magnuski (Ncast) suggested more developer topics and a developer
workshop. He'll post some suggestions on wiki and engage on list. High
level overview from previous conference already exists.
