Hi Rudiger,

Thanks for that thats what I thought, however testing suggests that the file isn't being streamed by the player but downloaded (for instance one can't skip ahead of where the media has downloaded) Is this expected in the flash setup or does it point to an error on our side?

Regards

David

Hi David,

FLVs are perfekt for streaming as there is a variety of solutions to
stream and pseudo stream this format (Red5, Flash Media Server, Wowza,
erlyvideo, Lighttpd, Apache).

What kind of streaming do you intend to do? If you intend to do
h.264/mp4 streaming I can share my encoding Profiles for thsi with you
(they are a little updated since I posted them to the wiki), but we have
not optimized them for streaming. They are currently intended for iTunes
U downloads.

If you look at 1.3 you will find updated profiles for the multi-quality
encodings for FLV too, as it is important for streaming that you have a
quality that has a bandwith apropriate for your connection...

Regards
RĂ¼diger
