Hi Doug, right now there is no way to do that. Lukas Rohner commted code through Christoph that will allow for this exact functionality. Currently, the published mediapackages are only pushed to the solr index. After Lukas' modifications (which means as part of the upcoming 1.4), the mediapackages are also written to the database and you can simply remove the search index and restart the server in order to have your search index rebuilt.
