Hi Richard,

The matterhorn users list is generally the place to look for this kind
of question.  There are extensive archives which answer just about every
newbie question at this point :)

In answer to your question, Matterhorn does not need any pre-existing
services.  You should be able to re-use the MySQL instance on that
machine.  The only issues might be Apache and Tomcat, just make sure
they are not trying to use whatever port you will be running Matterhorn on.
