I am experiencing a number of problems. They all very often either:
1. They hang requiring a full reboot with no indication of why they hung in any log anywhere.
2. The JVM crashes. This does leave the standard java crash log. There is no information in the matterhorn logs.
3. Matterhorn hangs becoming unresponsive to http requests, stops logging, stops processing, etc...requiring a restart of matterhorn. Again with nothing out of the ordinary in the logs.
4. The load average on the machine creeps up inexplicably (see attached image). The peaks are when it is recording. The plateaus indicate the weird increased load average. The machine is running nothing else but matterhorn. This also has nothing out of the ordinary in the logs. Restarting matterhorn brings the load average back down to normal.
These things happen only when recordings are scheduled. They happen intermittently, but often. I have no idea what to do. We bought about 8 of these units. I have tried swapping them. I have also tried completely reinstalling them. I was thinking at this point of maybe trying a later version of ubuntu which mayhave newer packages for openjdk, different compiled versions of the Epiphan driver, and different libraries.
Has anyone tried the reference agent with 1.3 and scheduled a number of successive recordings about 1 hr in length? Anyone experience any of these problems? Anyone have any idea how I might resolve them?
