The dates and location have been set for a North American Opencast Matterhorn Unconference

June 6-8, 2012
Harvard University
Cambridge, MA

More details coming soon! This 3-day unconference will feature a full day of "Matterhorn 101" - a bootcamp for those just getting their feet wet with Matterhorn, followed by 2 days of unconference styles sessions, lightning talks, and collaboration. See highlights from the first unconference held in Oxford, UK earlier this year at http://opencast.org/article/highlights-opencast-matterhorn-2012-unconference.

**What's an unconference?**

"An unconference is a conference where the content of the sessions is driven and created by the participants, generally day-by-day during the course of the event, rather than by a single organizer, or small group of organizers, in advance." -Wikipedia

As an unconference, the sessions and focus will be driven by the needs, interest and skills of those who attend. There will be both planned and spontaneous opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other. We're expecting sessions that cover most of these areas:

Implementing: installation, configuration, integration, extending, users helping users, solving problems Contributing: adopters interested in contributing to Matterhorn, development processes, tools, etc Project Planning: Quality assurance and release processes, roadmap, new features Community Organizing: governance, funding, community building, communications, public relations
Applying: Application of Matterhorn for teaching & learning, research

**Who should attend?**

We're expecting most of the project leadership to attend, and are hoping that many others will join us, including those who are working toward implementing Matterhorn on their campus, commercial vendors, those who want to take a more active role in the project development and community planning, and those who have great ideas for where Matterhorn could go next.

Stay tuned for more details!
