There's no special operation that needs to be run to add a CA to a core, if your CA is configured correctly it will automatically register itself with the core when it starts. When you installed the CA did you use the CA install script? This should have set the values correctly. Can we see your $FELIX_HOME/conf/config.properties, and $FELIX_HOME/conf/services/org.opencastproject.capture.impl.ConfigurationManager.properties files?
