Hi,
one easy way to remove those instances from the Recordings page is to
use the Workflow REST Endpoint /stop, with the id of the workflow as a
parameter.
The REST endpoints can be reached via the welcome page in the
"Services Documentation" section.

One other question: I have been getting NFS Stale file errors and how can I
prevent? What I have been doing is umounting my NFS partition and then
remounting.
