Hi Greg,

I have recently installed the latest 1.4 following this document
http://opencast.jira.com/wiki/display/MHTRUNK/Matterhorn+Release+Docs+for+TRUNK
The installation I did is a simply one server installation without any
additions.

So far, I did testing of the Upload Recording and then Episodes.
My main very positive observation is that core server conserves a lot of space,
as all the temporary files during the processing are deleted and only the
necessary are left.
But I think there are few problems.

1. From the Episodes tab when testing the functionality (workflows) options:

1.1 the first observation is that only recordings that were processed (uploaded
or scheduled) with the Archive option selected are coming to the Episodes list,
in that case other recordings can not be easy retracted from the Media
Module,
secondly, the State is always shown as "retracted" even for episodes
which are not retracted yet.
1.2 after using the 'Retract media package' function, the package is correctly
removed from Media Module (i.e. from the search index) but not from the
download distribution channel
as it should be done according to the retract workflow
1.3 the function 'Export to Downloadable Media' which I have applied to
previously retracted media generated an error message:
"Unable to find a workflow handler for Export"
but the function 'Encode, Analyze and Distribute' applied to retracted
media is working fine.
1.4 in the function 'default' process goes to hold for the workflow selection,
therefore I think the name 'default' is not very fortunate and it could
be changed to say 'select the workflow' or similar.

2. From the Upload Recording tab when testing the functionality (workflows)
options:

2.1 the function 'Export to Downloadable Media' is failing as above with the
error message: "Unable to find a workflow handler for Export"
2.2 the 'Retract media package'
I don't think that this function should be under this tab or at least I
don't understand the reason why it's here?

3. From the 'Schedule recordings'

3.1 My suggestion is to remove from the Processing Instruction: 'Retract
media package' also 'email-error' and rename (or remove) the 'default'
The 'email-error' workflow should rather be a part of a processing
workflow.

That's all for the moment.
