Dear All In order to come to a 1.4 release in 2012, we are proceeding with the second bug bash as suggested by the board and approved by committers. This coordinated effort speaks to every developer, administrator, and ambitious user in the community, committer or not, to tackle outstanding issues, review and test code submitted, write tests or improve documentation.
Thanks to Greg, David, and Rüdiger, tickets against 1.4 have been triaged to offer everyone an opportunity to participate by tackling one of the issues tagged "bugbash-II" during the event. These tickets come from a variety of domains to allow everyone to find a task to work on. Also, they should be resolvable within the three days we have planned for the bug bash to last. In order to allow everyone to join, we set up a poll at http://doodle.com/4hp4bcnyys2g3qib, so please indicate your favourite three consecutive days in these two weeks; deadline for this is November 14th. Finally, in order to make this more than a matter of duty, we are offering prizes for the most successful "bug basher": Tickets have been marked with points you can gather and beyond a certain threshold, you will compete for a number of prizes (details to be announced). This is a good chance for you to get acquainted with Opencast Matterhorn code, so we consider this a stepping stone to becoming a committer also.
