Olaf,

We've done lots of work at the U of S to build better detection algorithms.
I'm happy to share preprints of our papers (aiming to submit one in January)
that compare our algorithms to the current Opencast method as well as other
methods (timed, Dickson's, etc.). Depending on the students background and
goals, there is opportunity to collaboratively publish in this area with
something unique, or to take something that has already been done and make a
solid implementation of it.

For background on our approach, here was the first paper we published on it:

Regards,

Chris

Subject: [Matterhorn-users] Slide change detection algorithms

ETH Zurich will (probably) have a student work on improvements in slide change
detection algorithms next year. I seem to remember work in this domain - can
those involved or with a better memory point me to what has already been done?
