There seem to be two issues going on here. First, the default sensitivity
configuration (changesthreshold = 0.05 in
org.opencastproject.analysis.vsegmenter.VideoSegmenter.properties) in the
segmentation code is not sensitive enough to detect changes when the slides are
all white with just text. If either a) the slides are more different or b) the
sensitivity is increased, segmentation works correctly. This can be optimized
in future releases, but to do so at this point in the 1.1 release cycle seems
impractical. I'm therefore closing as "won't fix". We can add a new ticket
for another release if this is a priority.
Second, there is a problem with text extraction using the latest 3rd party tool
installation. The logs show the following:
