Judy Stern commented on MH-7996:
--------------------------------
Here's text that I think will work:
New functionality in Matterhorn 1.2 allows user to upload multiple files as
part of a single recording. Users can upload (up to) one of each of the
following:
--Segmentable video file (with or without audio): This is a file that
Matterhorn will analyze for screen changes and on which it will perform OCR
(Optical Character Recognition) in order to enable slide thumbnail navigation
and in-video search. The most common example of a file one would upload in this
category is the VGA output of an instructor's presentation.
--Non-segmentable video file (with or without audio): The most common example
of a file one would upload in this category is the video shot of the
instructor/presenter.
--Audio-only file: This is audio that is intended to be used when neither of
the video files contains audio.
One does not have to upload one of each of these. Any two can be uploaded. (Of
course, one can still use Matterhorn to upload a single media file.)
When more than one of the files uploaded contains audio, the current version of
Matterhorn prioritizes audio as follows:
--If the non-segmentable video contains audio, its audio will take precedence
over any other audio that is uploaded.
--If the segmentable video file contains audio, and the only other file
containing audio is the audio-only file, the segmentable video file's audio
will take precedence over the audio-only file.
--In other words, the audio-only file is used only if no other file uploaded
contains audio
